Sofia Black-D’Elia Biography, Facts and Life Story
D'Elia was a child of a mother who worked in printing and a father who was a lawyer. Her father is Italian and her mother is Jewish. At the age of five, she began acting and signed up to take ballet classes at Broadway Bound. She was 17 when she was cast as Bailey, her first major role on the soap opera All My Children. She was cast as Tea in the MTV version of the British teen drama skins. In this role, she portrays an openly gay teenager. Hoodie Allen's music video "The Chase is On" features her as Allen's love interest. D'Elia began classes at The William Esper Studio in fall 2011 and was also landed the role of Mina on Vicky Jewson's Born of War. This is her first role in film. D'Elia was Sage Spence, a character she played in the sixth and final season Gossip Girls. Black-D'Elia was raised in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School. Eleanor, her mother, is a printer. Anthony V. D'Elia is her father and a judge at the Superior Court of New Jersey. Her mother is Jewish and her father is Italian.
