Riley Keough
Danielle Riley
Keough is an American actress. Her birthplace was in Santa Monica to Danny
Keough and Lisa Marie Presley. She is the daughter of Elvis Presley, actress,
and singer. Keough was raised by her father in Hawaii, Los Angeles and spent
time with her mother in California. At the age of 15, she began modeling, with
appearances at fashion shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior and
appearing on the cover of Vogue. Keough made her film debut at the age of 20,
appearing as a support character in the musical biopic The Runaways (2010),
portraying Marie Currie. After The Good Doctor (2011) the film, she was a part
of Jack & Diane (2012). Prior to that, she was cast in Magic Mike
(2012), an uncredited role in Steven Soderbergh's comedy film Magic Mike
(2012). Keough appeared in several additional independent films in 2012 and
2013, including Yellow and Kiss of the Damned, before appearing in the
large-budget action feature Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) The fourth installment in
the Mad Max series. In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as a law
student-turned-escort in the first season of the anthology series The
Girlfriend Experience, executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009
film of the same name. The show received a lot of praise from critics for her
performance, and received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance
by an Actress in a limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Keough's performance as a lost young woman in American Honey (2017) garnered
the same praise as well as an Independent Spirit Award nomination. Keough was
the star of the apocalyptic horror flick It Comes at Night (2017). Keough then
reunited Soderbergh for a role in Logan Lucky, a heist movie. Keough followed
that with roles in a variety of thriller and horror films in the year 2018,
including Lars Von Trier's The House That Jack Built and the neo-noir Under the
Silver Lake, and Hold the Dark. Keough was the main character in the
psychological horror film The Lodge. She was later cast in Zola (2020) that is
a comedy-drama. Keough is the main character in Sandy Harrison, Netflix's 2020
release The Devil All the Time.
